Tips for using your card

  • Keep one copy on your fridge and one in your wallet, so it’s easy to find.
  • Make copies of your Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance cards, and keep them with your emergency supplies (Ready.gov).
  • Make sure at least one trusted person has a spare key and knows where your emergency supplies and medicines are (Ready.gov).
  • Plan for your pets, too — not all shelters accept them (Ready.gov).
  • Update the card whenever your medicines change.
